Gardens to visit this weekend

A __garden to warm the heart of any autumn visitor, blazing with the colours of 100-plus acers, as well as many other seasonal delights. You will be amazed at what is packed into the 1/4 acre site and understand why it has won numerous awards and accolades. Ten acres where the emphasis is on ornamental trees and shrubs makes the __garden of Ashfield a wonderful place for an autumn visit, a time to wander and admire the rich shades of foliage colour, berries and the ghostly bark of birch trees.

Only a mile or so from Pegwell Bay on the Kent coast near Ramsgate, the garden of the Haven is a glorious medley as appropriate for a seaside garden, mixing exotics with natives and with an emphasis for wildlife. Just 300ft long, it is bursting with interest right through the autumn as you follow the winding paths to two ponds and a series of different areas arranged with great skill and imagination.
