Deep in Shropshire countryside, this is the perfect place for an autumn walk in an unspoilt landscape __garden that is hardly ever open. Fine trees will be turning to rich autumn colours and don’t miss the wonderfully restored Victorian glasshouses in the walled __garden that have only just been completed.

Hole Park was one of the original gardens that opened for the NGS in 1927 and today it is rich with heritage from the early 20 th century when the garden was created. From formal areas around the house where neat yew hedges will be freshly clipped, it merges majestically into wider more informal areas where you will be able to enjoy the spectacular display of autumn colour put on by the fine collection of ornamental trees.

East Ruston Old Vicarage, East Ruston,

Open on Saturday for one o f only two days this year, East Ruston is one of the most spectacular gardens to open for the NGS where if you arrive as it opens you will definitely be still exploring as it closes. The 32 acres are a positive cornucopia of delights, different areas and vistas linking one to another, many exotic displays balanced with memorable views out across the seaside Norfolk countryside to churches and a lighthouse.
